Phenol and Acetone prices rise in parts of Asia.

This week, phenol prices spiked in some parts of Asia. Prices climbed higher, mainly on account of high upstream costs.

Phenol and Acetone prices rise in parts of Asia.

Petrotahlil - CFR China phenol prices were assessed at the USD 695/mt levels,  a week on week surge of USD 40/mt. The steep price gain was triggered by bullish upstream benzene values and stronger regional demand trends. Meanwhile, CFR South East Asia prices were assessed stable at the USD 700/mt levels.

Feedstock benzene prices were assessed at the USD 445/mt FOB Korea levels, a spike of USD 50/mt from the previous week.

Acetone prices climbed higher in some parts of Asia, this week. CFR South East Asia prices were assessed at the USD 875/mt levels, a week on week gain of USD 15/mt. The price rise was supported by higher upstream propylene values coupled with a lift in regional buying trends. Meanwhile, CFR China prices were at the USD 845/mt levels, unchanged from the previous week. 

Feedstock propylene prices were assessed at the USD 910/mt CFR China levels, a rise of USD 5/mt from last week.
