Sinochem Quanzhou achieves on-specification HDPE output.

Petrotahlil - China's Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical achieved on-specification production yesterday at its new high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plant in Fujian province, southeast China.

The HDPE plant, in the Quanhui petrochemical industry area, has nameplate capacity of 400,000 t/yr and produces HDPE injection grade HMN6080.

The HDPE plant is the first derivative unit to start operations under Sinochem Quanzhou's continuing refinery expansion and cracker project.

Sinochem Quanzhou is a wholly-owned subsidiary of state-controlled Sinochem. The company is due to start up its new 1mn t/yr naphtha cracker on 20 September. Sinochem has been buying merchant ethylene to feed its HDPE production until the start-up of the cracker.
