Russia PE output up nearly 60% in January-July.

Petrotahlil -Russia’s production of polyethylene (PE) in the first seven months of 2020 rose by 58%, year on year, to 1.7m tonnes, according to an  MRC ScanPlast report.

Production of all PE grades rose, but linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) accounted for the greatest increase after the start up of the large ZapSibNeftekhim complex in the east of the country.

LLDPE production rose to 282,400 tonnes in January-July, from 141,000 tonnes a year earlier.

Russia’s output of high density polyethylene (HDPE) rose 84% during the period to 1m tonnes.

Production low density polyethylene (LDPE) totalled 389,600 tonnes, up 2% year on year.
