Salalah Methanol restarts after outage

Petrotahlil - Oman-based Salalah Methanol restarted its plant on 3 July after an unplanned shutdown that lasted about a week.

The plant, which can produce 1.1mn t/yr of methanol, was taken off line around 27-28 June because of minor technical issues. It is expected to recover its production rates over the coming weekend.

The producer was forced to purchase a cargo this week to cover its shortfall during the shutdown.
